Horizons 2010 was a success! . . .

Burlington was a great venue! Fewer attendees made for rich discussion at a local level, but there was still a good number! Over 200 nurses, and wonderful speakers. Kathleen Vollman was again a hit, sharing how we can be healthy spiritually, more. . . Horizons 2010 . . .

2010 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Sepsis news. The nursing team at the Elliot Hopsital has been travelling into the Emergency Room to get on top of patients that look septic. Intervening in the first hour of sepsis has a great outcome for the patient, and having the two departments work together helps with education and support. Stay tuned for other success stories!

Targeting high-risk adolescents for metabolic syndrome. The International Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia, has just released a definition of the metabolic syndrome for adolescents that should help identify those at risk for further development of this condition. Read more here.
